2011 Solo Dance Competition Series

U.S. Figure Skating is pleased to announce the 2011 Solo Dance competition series. This program was conceptualized to serve as a Membership and Dance discipline development tool and is open to individual skaters within the Eastern, Midwestern and Pacific Coast sections.

Any skater who takes lessons in ice dancing and has tested either with their pro/partner or in the solo dance series may participate. You may participate in the last set of dance (all three bronze tests, etc.) passed on or before March 1, or one level above, or in three competitions in their section or two in their section and one in another section. The top eight skaters with the highest number of points in each section will compete in Colorado in the fall.

The skater must register with the USFS by March 1 to qualify for Solo Dance Nationals. You do not have to be registered to skate in Solo Dance, but you have to be registered to qualify for Nationals. Any skater can compete, but they do not qualify for Nationals unless they are registered. More competitions may be added to list, but all events must be completed by August 31 to qualify.
